Matching Heart Traditional Irish Claddagh Ring With Twin 0.20cts Central Ruby Gemstones And Six Shimmering Brilliant-Cut Diamonds In 14-karat Gold
Bring two hearts together forever with an unforgettable soulmate ring. This incredibly romantic version of Ireland's most iconic design creates a harmony of striking contrasts that leave an indelible impression on the observer.
Paired, deep red ruby gemstones form the Claddagh heart of love with a combined weight of 0.40 carats. Three pairs of beautifully matched brilliant-cut diamonds set into the yellow gold of the friendship hands and loyalty crown bathe the heart-shaped centerpiece in a soft glow of shimmering white light. This irresistible Claddagh ring is also available in handcrafted, hallmarked 14-karat white gold.
The True Love Soulmate Story That Captured Ireland’s Heart
The creator of the first Claddagh ring, Richard Joyce, set sail for the West Indies in 1675, hoping to make his fortune before returning home to marry his childhood sweetheart. As the fates would have it, his ship was boarded by Barbary pirates not long into the voyage, and he, along with everyone on the ill-fated vessel, was sold into slavery. He spent the next 14 years perfecting the craft of goldsmith and jeweler allotted to him by his new owner, but never gave up on his dream of freedom and seeing Ireland once more.
In 1689, the dream came true, and in spite of his former master's offer of wealth and marriage into his family, Richard chose to make the long journey back to his beloved Atlantic shores on Galway Bay, hoping to find his lover still waiting. He created the iconic Claddagh ring for her, with the heart to show their love, the hands, their undying friendship, and the crown the fierce loyalty that brought the soulmates back together once more.
